On Thursday 9th March 5th and 6th class had a visit from engineer Colin Simpson. He gave a really interesting presentation about his work as an engineer and engineering in general. He referenced Ormonde Organics, a Kilkenny company, who are using food waste to make a sustainable gas which is used as a substitute for fossil fuels. This will reduce carbon emissions and costs for the companies who use this gas. Their production plant is in Portlaw.
