6th class completed a 5 week cycle safety course with Donal and Ollie on Thursday. It was a very enjoyable few weeks. The children were taught how to use their bikes safely, revised rules of the road and most importantly learned about awareness - of traffic, pedestrians and their own behaviour - while on the road. This culminated in a cycle from the bridge in our school, around the roundabout, through the carpark and back to the bridge. Thanks to all the motorists who were very patient and added to the real life learning on the day!
As well as the safety aspect, children had great fun competing in slow bicycle races, knockout and the fastest cyclist over 200m! Thanks again to Donal and Ollie for providing us with this great opportunity.
